“We love our Colorado Custom Blinds. We do not have air conditioning in our home and the “black-out” blinds help make the room cooler when we need to close them on warmer days. In addition, they are great at blocking out the bright sun for my “night working / day sleeping” family members. And, they look great in our rooms – we have both light filtering and black-out in different rooms. The two times we had some challenges with the blinds, Malia made sure the issues were solved quickly and efficiently. “I love my new blinds! Working with Malia at Colorado Custom Blinds made changing my window coverings easy and stress-free. I am not a natural decorator and easily get overwhelmed with the infinite number of choices. Malia was so knowledgeable and helpful in narrowing down the look and functionality that I needed. She took great care to show me a few options that would work in my rooms.
For instance, I have a large three-panel sliding glass door. I kept putting off getting anything to cover it because I had no idea what would work. She suggested three large roller shades using the latest remote-controlled technology. They are perfect! My furniture and piano are now saved from the intense Colorado sun!

“I needed new blinds and shades in three rooms of my home and I found Malia as I was browsing through websites. I called her and she came out in just a few days and gave me ideas for blinds in two of the rooms as well as shades in a great room. The quote came in within hours of her leaving my home.

Additionally, I had some sun discolored/warped Hunter Douglas Shutters that I had no luck getting replaced by other companies, and Malia cheerfully said “Let me try”. Within a day, Malia was back with me and Hunter Douglas was willing to replace the damaged shutters under warranty. What service Malia was able to get for me!

Products were ordered and goods received in a timely fashion. Brian, came out on three occasions to install my shutters, blinds and shades, as we had to work around window installation. He was prompt each time, took pride in his work and did not rush through the installation. He explained in detail how each item worked, how to care for it and even helped us set up the remote blue tooth for our shades.

I love the fact that Malia and team are a small independent company and take pride in customer service and offer excellent products. I would use their services again and highly recommend them to anyone in need of window coverings.”

“Malia and her team are AWESOME! A few years ago, we had contacted businesses for estimates on a large triangular shutter in our great room. We went with Colorado Custom Blinds as they had very competitive pricing and Malia’s customer service was the best.

Over the last 5 years, we have replaced all our home’s window coverings. We have used Colorado Custom Blinds each time and each time has been like the first. Malia is very professional and thorough. She is honest and she will give you her honest opinion if you ask. I am on over analyzer, and she never once made me feel like I was asking too many questions or wasting her time. She knows the purchase is an investment, and she truly wanted us to be happy with what we ultimately bought.

We have TDBU (top down bottom up) cellular shades throughout the majority of our home and a 4 panel motorized shade on our quad slider.

Malia came to our home multiple times, at my request, to explain the pros and cons of the coverings we were considering. She helped with color selection and also explained functionality and performance of the ones we were trying to decide on. Malia gave us all the options and never pressured us into buying or buying quickly.

The installers she has on her team have the same professionalism and customer service. We have had 3 different installers and they have all been top notch. Once installed, they explained how they work and how to properly care for them.

This company is the real deal! I truly appreciated the genuine customer service! It seems companies like this are few and far between anymore. Thank you Malia for not settling for less than the best! You truly went above and beyond for all our projects!”

“In June of 2017, we bought a new home in Peyton, CO. We had 31 windows to cover. We were referred to Malia Alstrom Colorado Custom Blinds, Shades & Shutters 5325 Aubrey Way Colorado Springs, CO 80919. That turned out to be the best referral we’ve gotten in the 50 years we have moved around the United States and various countries. We’ve never dealt with a more professional, cooperative, and efficient company. I, especially, appreciated the product knowledge and advice I received in covering all the windows and, particularly, as concerned the several problematic areas. For instance, there is a small window in one of the bathrooms. Malia suggested I not cover it as it really wasn’t necessary. I hesitated but that turned out to be a really good decision. Malia, never tried to talk me into more expensive options. Rather, she pointed out where to use our money to its best advantage and where to put less expensive options. I have not regretted a single choice. Fast forward 4 years and we noticed a couple of minor issues with 2 of the blinds. I emailed Malia to ask her if she could suggest someone who could do the repairs. Amazingly, she was out here in short order, took the blinds and liners (on rather large windows), mailed them to Hunter Douglas, had them repaired and we received them via FedEx to our home. My husband was able to rehang the blinds. Malia had the name of an installer, if we needed him. I was fully expecting to pay for this but she told me there was no charge! This is a rare company, especially, in todays world. Regardless, the scope of the work (one window or 31) Colorado Custom Blinds, Shades and Shutters would be the best choice you could make. SR”

“This review is long over due. I had contacted CCBS earlier in the year last year to get some new shutters and I am beyond pleased! I had Maila come out to give me a quote for all the windows in my house and it was a pretty decent price I got. Malia came over on time, did all the measurements, was great with keeping me in the loop about the details of my order. Her crew came out and did a good job installing all the shutters in a timely manner. When I noticed there was a crack in one of the shutters that was installed, I told Malia and she told me to send her a photo right away and she’d make it right. I sent her the photo and she immediately ordered another shutter and within less than 2 weeks I received a brand new shutter without any manufacturer defects. I gotta say that this attention to detail and excellent customer service is rare– but with Malia, it’s not rare. Malia will do everything possible to do right by the customer and go above and beyond to get things done right. In my opinion the way a business should be done. “As we were considering updating our window treatments aka blinds a friend recommended Colorado Custom Blinds. Upon contacting the company, we were greeted by Malia Alstrom the friendly, professional and knowledgeable owner. A speedy and convenient appointment was set up, accurate measurements were taken, a quote was forwarded and the promised delivery and install dates were met, despite the turbulent virus disruptions.

At the appointed time the technician showed up and the install went like clockwork. We were amazed at how proficient the technician was. “Absolutely recommend! Malia was amazing! She came out twice to my house in the mountain to make sure the measurements will be exact on my custom shutters. I have a trapezoid window on an awkward corner with another large window in my kitchen and the shutters were the perfect solution to our privacy issue. The price is very reasonable. As soon as the shutters arrived they called to schedule install which only took about 30 minutes for my two gigantic, awkwardly placed windows. “We’ve used Colorado Custom Blinds for several years — 23 windows that have some challenging shapes and size. We ordered wide slat, custom blinds because our crank out windows aren’t shutter friendly. One is electronically controlled in a large bathroom window — so cool! This is the first time I can say that blinds are gorgeous and fit every window exactly. Also love the cornices at the top; really make them look custom. I like it that all the window coverings look uniform from the outside of our house. Malia, the owner, and Mike the installer, are first rate pros. Measuring is perfect. Malia has a keen eye for style and color (yes, there are many “shades” of white to go with white woodwork in a house), delivery is surprisingly fast, installation process is very professional too, and Malia stands by her products and work. Malia promptly responded to my phone call and came out to determine the problem with the blind. She worked with the manufacturer on my behalf to get a warranty replacement blind promptly installed at no cost to me. All it took was one phone call from me to her. In my opinion she went above and beyond in her service to me, especially since I bought that blind from the previous owner.
