1. Pricing and scope
What is the total installed price, and what is included versus considered an upgrade?
We always discount off the Manufacturer's Suggested retail pricing (MSRP). Our pricing includes a free design and product consultation, custom measuring, discounted product, shipping, installation and tax. We offer military and senior discounts. We can uninstall existing products and brackets for a nominal fee.The scope of our work includes a detailed consultation to help narrow your options, explain the attributes of each option and educate you so you make an informed purchase. We custom measure each of your window openings in 12 places to ensure a perfect fit. Our professional installers are licensed, insured, experienced and meticulous and will treat your home like their own. We've been in business since 2004.

2. Measurement accuracy
Who performs the measurements, and what guarantees are provided if measurements are incorrect?
We perform the measuring using a precise laser tool. We measure in 12 places on the window opening to ensure the perfect fit. We are responsible for the measurements. In the rare instance that the treatment doesn't fit, we replace it at our cost.

3. Product options
What types of blinds, shades, and shutters do you recommend for my specific windows and why?
There are a multitude of factors that go into a window treatment style recommendation. We use an analytical approach for each recommendation we make based on these concerns:

4. Customization
What elements are truly custom versus standard sizing or configurations?
Everything we do is customized for your home. We use a precise laser tool to custom measure each of your window openings in 12 places to ensure a perfect fit. Each shade, blind or shutter will be built to fit the exact measurements we take and provide to the manufacturer. For example, with blinds, the ladders that hold the slats will be spaced accurately for the openings and there will be no extra slats on the blind. For shutters, the panels will be built to fit the openings; the top and bottom portion of the panels are custom sized to the height of the openings. For shades, they are built to fit the opening exactly with the manufacturer given deductions so they operate properly. Lift system controls are customized to height. Motorization controls can be handheld remote or wall mounted wireless. Hardware colors can be customized at no additional charge.

5. Materials and construction
What materials are used, and how do they impact durability, appearance, and longevity?
All of our products have a limited lifetime warranty from manufacturer defects for the original purchaser.
Materials are specific to each product. Some of our materials are GREENGUARD Certified and have Microban protection. Alta's Safe Use designation provides assurance that certain fabrics are among the most stringent standards for chemical content in the world, including RoHS, REACH, and US Consumer Product Safety Commission Section 101 for lead content.
Eco friendly, non-toxic, recyclable fabrics are available. We offer product lines that use responsible sourcing. Norman's materials and paints meet California's stringent Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Emission Standards and the guidelines of the Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA). Norman's raw materials are 100% traceable, and lumber sourced from North America complies with the American Hardwood Export Council regulations for legality, sustainability, and low environmental impact. An example of woods used by our manufacturers include Paulowina Wood, Phoenix Wood, Basswood, Poplar, Abaci. Woven woods consist of organic, natural and raw materials, including woods, grasses and reeds. Aluminum blinds are 6 gauge or 8 gauge for superior longevity and strength. Polypropylene or ABS co-polymer coatings are used to provide durable products that are moisture resistant.
